Many people know this but they do not know why. Christmas is a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. No such festival as christmas was ever heard of until the THIRD century and not until the FOURTH century was far advanced did it gain much observance. However they do not perform the rituals specific to Christianity performed by Christians during the season or perform any other act that is considered Haram in Islam.

We have accepted the social etiquettes associated with Christmas such as wishing Christmas to people attending Christmas parties and at to an extent of decorating their homes or workplaces with Christmas decor.
Do Muslims Celebrate Christmas. The celebration of Christmas is not religious and if Muslims do things during the winter holidays it is usually to enjoy themselves and be part of the festive atmosphere. No Muslims do not celebrate Christmas. In sum Muslims dont celebrate Christmas per se.
In the recent times Christmas has been adopted by Muslims as holiday of giving gifts and spending time with their friends and family. Christmas is not a Muslim holiday therefore Muslim countries do not celebrate it. No Muslims do not celebrate Christmas.

Also if Muslims do not wish to celebrate Christmas among their cultural occasion it is forbidden Haram to disrespect Christian rituals. There is no requirement that one. The Quran venerates both Jesus and Virgin Mary by sharing their story of Jesus miraculous birth his special gift of speaking from the cradle and his ability to perform miracles with the help of God.
In a Muslim home Christmas is about friends and family festive cheer in the winter drear. If Jesus peace be upon him is so revered in Islam why do we not celebrate his birthday. It is necessary to point out that Jesus as and his mother Hazrat Maryam Mary are revered highly by Muslims.
